About Us
Shanghai Doc Group is a vibrant community founded by documentary filmmaker Qin Xiaoyue. Our mission is to connect independent documentary creators, offering a supportive space to share experiences, resources, and inspiration in an otherwise solitary creative journey.

What We Do

Monthly Meetups: Held on the second Tuesday evening of every month, our gatherings bring together directors, producers, editors, cinematographers, and other creatives to discuss projects, tackle challenges, and foster collaborations.
Project Pitches: Participate in our simulated pitch sessions! Present your documentary idea (3-minute trailer + 4-minute pitch) and receive feedback from peers. Selected projects gain exposure and potential partnerships.
Resource Sharing: From festival strategies to technical advice, we facilitate knowledge exchange and skill-building through themed workshops and open discussions.
